The Digestive System

The digestive system is a proccess which is where your food goes once you have swallowed it. It is a long, easy process, so, yh, read on to find out. We know you want to...

1.The first obvious stage is that you chew the food with your teeth. Thhis is classified as a mechanical breakdown. The food also gets mixed up with your saliva, which moistens your food down and gives out an enzyme called carbohydrase which starts to break down carbohydrates.

2.You then swallow it and it goes down your oesophagus(which is where the process peristalsis starts) and intoyour stomach.

3.Once its in your stomch, its muscular walls crush it and gives out an acid called hydrocloric and gives out an enzyme called protease, which breaks down proteins. After that it goes through your small intestie.

4. Going through your small intestine, it gives out bile which breaks down fat and this is where the vili is used. It sucks all of the good nutrients and takes it to the blood stream, which then take it to the cells all around the body.
